Defining a Problem or "What I Want to Prove"

Parts

  • Describe/ modeling the problem:
    • Define the proof: what I want to proof  -- the output / result
      • Or what I want to demonstrate
        • Proof = Qed
    • Define hypothesis: set of assumptions considered true  -- the input
  • Resolving the problem:
    • Chain of reasoning that starts from hypothesis and demonstrate what I want to prove

"Ask the wrong problem and you will get the wrong answer"
"Asking for the best route between two places on a map is a silly question unless you define what best means."
